Do you ever feel like you're carrying fear, anxiety, or exhaustion that isn't entirely yours — patterns that feel older than your own life? In this guided grounding visualization, we complete our three-part Root Chakra series with Release: the deepest layer of root chakra healing, where trapped emotions, inherited trauma, and nervous system dysregulation are gently offered back to the earth.

This isn't a typical episode — it's a guided visualization you can return to anytime you feel overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or simply need to remember what it feels like to be grounded and held.

In this episode, you'll experience:

  • A full-body grounding visualization designed to calm a dysregulated nervous system and ease anxiety symptoms
  • Ayurvedic and Vedic teachings on how the earth element both nourishes and receives — supporting the release of fear, grief, and inherited emotional patterns
  • Gentle guidance for releasing trapped emotions and generational trauma that were never yours to carry
  • Root chakra healing imagery (rooted in the metaphor of a tree) to help you feel safe, supported, and truly at home in your body
  • A practice you can return to anytime as a spiritual grounding tool for anxiety relief and emotional release

This is the final episode in our Root Chakra series:
🌱 Episode 043 — Reflection: 5 signs you may be living in survival mode
🌿 Episode 044 — Ritual: Ayurvedic grounding practices for stability and safety
🌳 Episode 045 — Release: a guided visualization for letting go (this episode)

Welcome to True to Yourself — your soulful companion on the journey home to yourself.

This isn't just an episode.

It's a guided visualization you can return to whenever you feel overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or simply need to remember what it feels like to be held by the earth.

Come back to it whenever you need it.

You are always welcome here.

Let's begin.

This week on True to Yourself, we've been working with the Root Chakra — the first energy center, the foundation upon which everything else is built.

On Monday, in our Reflection episode, we explored five signs that the Root Chakra may be out of balance.

On Wednesday, in our Ritual episode, we explored Ayurvedic practices that nourish and stabilize this foundational energy center.

Today, we arrive at the deepest layer.

Release.

Not release through force.

Not through willpower.

Not through trying to make something happen.

But release in the way a tree releases what it no longer needs — through its roots. Into the earth. Back to the place where it can be transformed into something new.

In Ayurveda and throughout the Vedic tradition, the earth elementis not only nourishing.

It is also receiving.

The earth gives.

But it also receives.

It has always known how to receive.

It accepts what has completed its purpose.

It transforms patiently.

It makes fertile soil from what has been released.

This is one of the beautiful gifts of the Root Chakra.

It is not only the place from which we draw stability.

It is also the place through which we release what destabilizes us—fear, old stories, inherited patterns, grief, and the subtle but exhausting effort of believing we have to carry everything alone.

For the next several minutes, I invite you to experience yourself as a tree—rooted, steady, and deeply supported by the earth beneath you.

Sometimes our nervous system understands imagery more deeply than explanation.

Simply allow yourself to receive whatever this practice has to offer today.

If you're driving, please save this episode for another time, when you can close your eyes safely.

Otherwise, find a comfortable position.

Allow your body to settle.

And let everything else wait.

— THE GUIDED VISUALIZATION —

Close your eyes.

[pause]

Allow your hands to rest gently in your lap or comfortably at your sides.

There is nothing to achieve here.

Nothing to do perfectly.

Simply arrive.

[pause]

Take a slow breath in through your nose.

Easy.

Gentle.

Unforced.

[pause]

And exhale slowly.

Let your shoulders soften.

[pause]

Take another breath.

As you exhale, feel your body become just a little heavier.

A little more supported.

Allow gravity to have you.

[pause]

One more slow breath.

And with this exhale, soften your jaw.

The muscles around your eyes.

Your forehead.

Your belly.

Release any effort you've been carrying.

[pause]

You don't have to hold yourself up right now.

The earth is already doing that.

[pause]

Now bring your awareness to the base of your spine.

To the place where your body meets the earth beneath you.

This is Muladhara.

Your Root Chakra.

The foundation of your being.

[pause]

Imagine this space as a warm, steady, deep red light.

Quiet.

Ancient.

Patient.

It has been with you since before you could speak.

Before you learned to worry.

Before you learned to be afraid.

[pause]

It is still here.

Waiting for your attention.

[pause]

Now, with your next inhale, imagine roots beginning to grow from the base of your spine.

Down through your hips.

Through your legs.

Through the soles of your feet.

Down through the floor beneath you.

Through wood.

Or stone.

Or concrete.

Whatever lies beneath.

Passing through the foundations of the building.

Through layers of rich soil.

Clay.

Bedrock.

Until your roots reach deep into the quiet earth below.

[pause]

Notice how effortlessly they grow.

Not searching.

Not grasping.

Simply following nourishment.

Following water.

Following life itself.

Exactly as roots have always done.

[pause]

Your roots reach cool, moist earth.

Feel the gentle coolness surrounding them.

The quiet weight of the soil embracing them.

Steady.

Strong.

Supporting them completely.

Nothing to prove.

Nothing to force.

Simply supported.

[pause]

Continue breathing.

With each exhale, your roots grow just a little deeper.

And with every breath, your body remembers something ancient.

It remembers how to belong.

[pause]

Now imagine that the earth beneath you begins to receive what you have been carrying.

Not because you are getting rid of it.

But because the earth is asking for it back.

[pause]

Whatever fear has been resting inside you...

Offer it gently downward.

The earth can hold it.

[pause]

Whatever anxiety has quietly lived beneath the surface...

Allow it to flow through your roots.

The earth knows exactly what to do with it.

[pause]

Whatever grief has settled into your body...

Your shoulders.

Your chest.

Your belly.

Let it soften.

Let it move downward.

Nothing is wasted.

Everything is transformed.

[pause]

Whatever inherited fear was never yours to carry...

Whatever old stories...

Whatever patterns have quietly traveled through generations...

Allow them to return to the earth.

They have completed their work.

They no longer belong to you.

[pause]

The earth receives them without judgment.

Without resistance.

Without hurry.

[long pause]

Remain here for a few breaths.

Rooted.

Held.

Releasing.

[10 second pause]

Now notice what remains.

[pause]

Without the weight of what you've offered back...

What do you notice?

Perhaps a little more space.

A little more stillness.

A little more ease.

[pause]

This is not something you created.

It has always been here beneath what you were carrying.

[pause]

Now allow your awareness to travel back up through your roots.

Through the rich earth.

Back into the soles of your feet.

Through your legs.

Back to the base of your spine.

Notice that nothing essential about you has been lost.

Only what no longer belonged to you has returned to the earth.

[pause]

Now feel yourself as the trunk of the tree.

Steady.

Strong.

Grounded.

Unhurried.

[pause]

Feel that steadiness rise through your belly.

Through your heart.

Your heart can soften now.

Because your roots are deep enough to hold you.

[pause]

Feel it rise through your throat.

Your voice no longer has to come from fear.

It can come from truth.

[pause]

Now through the crown of your head.

Growing upward.

Just as branches naturally reach toward the light.

Without striving.

Without forcing.

Simply growing toward what nourishes them.

[pause]

You are the tree.

Rooted deeply in the earth.

Reaching gently toward the sky.

Held from below.

Guided from above.

Present right here in the middle.

[pause]

Take a few moments to simply experience this.

The roots beneath you.

The strength within you.

The spaciousness above you.

[10 second pause]

You are safe.

You belong.

You are supported.

You are home.

[pause]

When you're ready...

Take one slightly deeper breath.

Feel the surface beneath your body once again.

Gently wiggle your fingers.

Your toes.

Invite a little movement back into your body.

And when it feels right...

Allow your eyes to slowly open.

[pause]

Welcome back.

— CLOSING —

This visualization belongs to you now.

Come back to it whenever life begins to feel heavier than it needs to.

Whenever anxiety hums quietly beneath the surface.

Whenever you notice yourself rushing...

Gripping...

Trying to hold everything together alone.

Or simply whenever you want to remember what it feels like to belong.

Like the roots of a tree, stability isn't built in the middle of the storm.

It is cultivated beforehand.

One quiet practice.

One gentle return.

One breath at a time.

This visualization is simply one way of growing those roots.

This week, we journeyed through the Root Chakra in three parts:

Reflection.

Ritual.

Release.

These episodes will always be here whenever this chakra calls for your attention.

Next week, we'll begin exploring the Sacral Chakra—the energy center of creativity, pleasure, emotional flow, and our capacity to receive life fully.

A new chakra.

Three new episodes.

Another step on the journey home to yourself.

Thank you for allowing me to walk beside you today.

Remember...

A tree does not grip the earth harder when a storm comes.

It has already grown its roots deep enough that it doesn't need to.

The stability was built before the storm arrived.

May this practice help you grow those roots within yourself.

If this visualization supported you today, save this episode so it's here whenever you need it.

And if you feel called to continue releasing what no longer serves you, I've included a link in the show notes to schedule a complimentary Sovereign Within introductory session.

Until next time, take good care of yourself.

Namaste. 🙏
